Organic Skin Care Brands You’ll Fall In Love With

No matter what you say, the truth is that we all want to get out of the shower every morning smelling like lavender, patchouli and vanilla. But what would be even better is if our bath products didn’t have any parabens, SLS and SLES (basically all the bad stuff), and was vegan, cruelty-free and still, made our skin and hair look awesome. Well, here’s a list of yummy skin care brands that are handmade, 100% natural and environment-friendly.

Krya (www.krya.in)KryaBased on Indian Ayurveda, all of their products have been painstakingly created after years of research. Plus, they are made using herbs and lentils, whether it is their detergent, dish-wash powder, mosquito repellent or hair and body powders, with zero preservatives. If you don’t know what to order first, we suggest you try their Massage Oil (with carrot and winter cherry), followed by Krya Festive Ubtan (a great replacement to your regular bath soaps, this wash powder will make you feel super clean after every bath and it smells great!). Oh, and they have body oil and body wash for kids too, in case you have a toddler at home. Honestly, we can’t think of safer products to recommend for your kids.

Handmade For You

The lady behind Handmade For You decided to make soaps for her friends and family at first. News spread and friends of friends started asking her if she’d make a fresh batch for them (because they were so good!). Rest as they say is history. These delicate and extra nourishing soaps are especially good for people with sensitive skin. If you’re in South Delhi, she’d be more than happy to have you come over to her place and pick the soaps you like (anything from lavender and turmeric to vanilla, coffee and more). And if you’re in another city, you can ask her to ship it to you. You may contact her at 011-26516064 or +91-9810021429.

Coconess (www.coconessindia.com)

They love virgin coconut oil and so do we. You can drink it as a Health Tonic, do Oil Pulling with it (an ancient Ayurvedic technique to keep your teeth and gums healthy, and detox the natural way), use it as an after-bath oil (their Basil Bath Oil is light, non-greasy and great for the monsoon) or even, feed it to your pets (Pet Coco – Health Supplement). Plus, you can get their all-natural, Skin Elixir to replace those synthetic night-creams and the Intense Hair Masque (that will make your hair all nice and soft).

SOS Organics (www.sosorganics.com)SOS organics 1Located in a tiny town called Almora in Uttarakhand, SOS Organics has a great line of products, from body butters and scrubs to lip balms, body oil and hand-crafted bath soaps. And mind you, all of them are free of chemicals, artificial colors and preservatives. We suggest you try their Patchouli Lavender Cream (it smells so great that you want to eat it and it’s perfect for the winter because it’s like applying a layer of butter on your skin), Peppermint Foot Scrub (a treat for your feet, made using apricot kernels, apricot oil, vegetable glycerine, himalayan crystal salt and essential oils) and Relaxing Massage Oil (made with cedar, ylang and lavender oil). They also have a great range of health foods including gluten-free grains and flour that you might want to check out.

Burst Of Happyness (www.burstofhappyness.in)

Beer n Aloe Shampoo Bar 1

We can’t seem to get enough of their soaps, whether it is Coconut Milk Hair & Body Bar, Woe Be Gone (great for people with dry skin because it has kokum butter, cocoa butter and olive oil), Coffee or Cucumber Aloe & Rice Flour. But our favorite is their Lavender & Grapefruit Natural Deodorant Cream (which lasts all day, even in the summer. Goodbye, synthetic deodorants!) and Lucky Lips lip balm (you really can’t use the other thick lip balms once you’ve tried this). We almost forgot – there’s also What A Girl Wants (a soap-free cleanser for oily or acne-prone skin, made using rhassoul clay and rose petals to gently cleanse the skin). Now, that sounds like a real treat, doesn’t it?
