Summer is nearly over and winter is almost here, which means it’s time for sunny, balmy afternoons and long, Sunday brunches with perhaps a shandy or two, French toast, cinnamon buns and endless cups of tea. If you’re in Gurgaon, there’s no better place to do it all than Cross Point Mall. The place has a laid-back vibe, and enough space and sun to soak in.
Di Ghent Cafe: This is the place we go to when we are craving comfort food or that perfect cup of Cappuccino, when a friend needs to “talk” about something important and we need a quiet place or even when it’s that same friend’s birthday and she wants to have a big breakfast with all her favorite people. Di Ghent Cafe serves the most amazing desserts (soft and gooey Lemon Cake, anyone?), eggs (with smoked salmon, asparagus, mushrooms, spinach, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, basil or ricotta, among other options). Their soups and salads are things we definitely intend to try out the next time we’re there.
The Pint Room: This place is our little secret. A quiet cafe in a corner that serves beer. The sort of place you go to for your first date. During winter, they keep their French doors open so you can look out at the balcony and people-watch. Their beer menu is quite extensive (it’s where we fell in love with BIRA Blonde), which usually goes well with a plate of fries, nachos or chicken wings.
Fat Lulu’s Cafe & Bar: We all remember Fat Lulu’s because we’ve all waited outside the tiny outlet in Galleria for at least 30 minutes after placing the order. And never, ever regretted the wait because their thin-crust, wood-fired pizza is just that good, with tossed bases in whole wheat, spinach, beetroot & garlic. Now with their cafe and bar, we can have all that and so much more. We can choose from their salads, appetizers, burgers & sandwiches, pastas, pizza (of course!), coffee, desserts and (drumroll, please) cocktails. Pizza tastes so much better with a Tropical Punch, Mandarin Mimosa or Classic Bellini.
San-Cha Tea Boutique: A pretty, little tea boutique that offers everything from white teas, green teas, oolong, black and masala chai. Before you decide to buy anything, you also have the option of trying it out, just so you know if that’s really your brew. Plus, if you’re looking for a perfect gift for someone who loves tea, they have a whole bunch of things to choose from (and by that, we don’t just mean cute teapots!).
Alaya Spa & Salon: You didn’t think we’d only talk about food and drinks, did you? Well, there can be more to a Sunday, you know. And what can be better than getting a great haircut, doing our nails or simply, sitting back and getting a foot/ back massage that’ll help us relax some more. They also have a whole host of body therapies, facials and organic body polish and scrubs to choose from.
Address: Cross Point Mall, DLF Phase IV, Sector 28, Gurgaon.
